This afternoon, I was talking to my friend “also an interior designer” for an hour during lunch break. On the topic “Is there any standard benchmark price for interior design service”. What do you think? How do you judge that interior designing firm is charging you fair. Basically i do not have the answer too.
It is very subjective.
E.g SIA versus Tiger Airline
Do you think that Tiger Airline service can’t compare to SIA?
I believe both Airlines are providing quality services just that SIA come with meal on board with the ticket purchase and Tiger Airline meal don’t come with it you need to purchase separate. Does that mean Tiger Airline are providing lousy service. I total disagreed . You jolly well know that What you pay is What you get.
Let come back to the topic If the project only allow the contractor to make a profit of 5% or less you can’t expect the contractor to throw in a lot of free gifts. Or if there are any addition items need to be charge and the contractor ask you for the addition cost can you say that the contractor services are lousy. Let be fair, one of this day when your boss say to you that they do not pay you for OT. Are you happy?
Price = Service+time+job carried out
So are you willingly to pay for service?
OR
Are you expecting free service?
If you answer is YES and you are expecting free service then you can come and work for me ….
So, If you are paying premium price and expecting world class service. To me there is nothing wrong to has higher expectation but be reasonable set at industries standard and not your own personal standard which you yourself can’t achieve.
