Renovation, , sewage pipe,

Hey folks,

Here are some pictures i took from a kitchen of a 5 room flat few days ago. If you are living in a old flat for more then 10 to 15 years which having the old cast iron pipes, you probably need to check the pipes for any signs of corrosion and leakage problems.

Corrosion is due to chemical reactions with its surroundings. Metals reacting with water and oxygen and cause rusting to the metal and melt through and water leak.

I’d be afraid to even touch that from fear that it would disintegrate – the leaks seeping through the cracks in the paint seem to indicate that the iron has corroded to the point where it is only paper-thin!

did you get someone to look at it ?

That corrosion is fecal matter and God knows what else is in the pipe. Your crap is not flowing well, building up on the interior pipe where bacterias that create sulfuric acid colonize and burn through the pipes. Does the building use low flow toilets?
