renovation work, removal of paint,

hello,

I have not post any article from my work for very long time. Very sorry about it!

i have been  busy with few projects on hand and but recently I have started working on the the hand rail i wanted to experience  myself  how easy or difficult to remove paints for the hand rail . For you information, It’s not and easy job as the old hand rail had been painted over quite a number of times and  needed  more time to remove the paint.

As we know, We wanted to re stall the hand grip to it original wooden finish. I ‘ve been working on the hand rail for 2 to 3 hours each days with the paint removal solvent. you needed to be  extremely careful when using the paint removal solvent as it s acidic. my advise is to to wear gloves and long sleeves shirt to protect from the harmful solution.

You need to apply on the paint and left it for 15 minutes  or so and let the solvent to penetrate into the paint when wrinkle appear on the surface then you can use the scraper to remove the paint , and sometime, you need to do a couple  of  times in order for the paints to be totally removed.

Very sorry as i do not have picture during the process because i was wearing gloves and the acidic paint removal solvent might damage my camera. i will try to update  you with some photos  when it is possible.
