Yesterday, i read an articles from the News paper about people paying 100k above valuation and the flat cost 700 + . The price of HDB flats have sky rocket and i thinks is ridiculous….very stupid for people paying for so high for a HDB flat. Or maybe he right for paying more for his dream home. Due to paying more cash for purchase a flat causing less money for renovation.
What can yo do when you have less money and can’t do the renovation what you wanted.
Set priority… you must decided to fore go some of the renovation works.
Now, ask yourself what is important and what is a must do now and what can do later. The most easy is not to do anything just have your house interior painted with a new coat of paints and buy furniture off the shelve and decorate you house. It would be a great saving to your pocket. But if you still needed to have some minor renovation to your house. for example the living and the bedroom tiles look old and unacceptable i suggest that you choose overlaying with laminate flooring you can save some money from hacking..
Normally, if you ask me which is the place you need to renovation, my answer would be the toilet. I seem many houses and it always the toilets look the worst. To renovation 1 toilets probably cost you between 2.5k to 3.5k and it depend on the size of the toilet and the tiles you use.
if you wanted to have more saving i suggest you go for direct contractor if you do not mind the trouble to deal with them direct. You can check the newspaper or go online to check for this kind of contractors. If time no a problem for you, you can be at the house to coordinate work with the contractor this way you can save a lot.
